Basic Information
Name: Joe Dick
Original canon: Hard Core Logo
Age: 32
Race: Human

Physical description: Joe is 5'10" tall and approximately 180 lbs. He has blue eyes and short brown hair, occasionally a bit of facial hair, often seen dressed in dark clothes and a black cap. No tattoos, two holes left from piercings he no longer wears in one ear and various scars on his arms and shoulders. His build is hard and stocky, strong from his work. He has wide shoulders, strong arms and he has a tendency to look intimidating, even when he isn't necessarily trying to be. Although he's often trying to be.

Job: Bounty hunter. Watch your back.

Wealth: Born of old money, Joe washed his hands of his family a long time ago and hasn't touched their wealth since. Bounty hunting pays well enough, but Joe isn't exactly the type of man to save and sometimes just barely scrapes by.

Living Situation: Joe calls a small, one bedroom apartment on Oublié home, but rarely spends time there. The place is well kept enough, but smells musty and shut in, as it's not often used.
Background

Born Joseph Mulgrew to one of the old money families that had fled Earth, he led a priviledged life until he was about 10 years old, when he started to act out. When he was 12, Joe was arrested for vandalism at which point he met Billy Boisy. The two of them became friends, formed various bands and changed their names. Their final band, Hard Core Logo, met with decent success. Joe, however, had a problem with real success and did his best to sabotage most of the band's success. Although they continued to play for a few years, it wasn't quite the same and the band eventually broke up.

Since meeting, there had been an intense affection between Joe and Billy, something that was manifested in an unhealthy sexual and romantic relationship from the time they were about fourteen. Joe always needed and wanted Billy more than he believed Billy wanted him.

At 23, when Joe first got the idea to start doing work bounty hunting, he brought Billy into it. After a few months of bounty hunting it turned out Billy had a decent talent for it and he began to take more jobs, leaving Joe behind more often than Joe liked. In retaliation, Joe told Billy that their childhood mentor, Bucky Haight, had been attacked and shot and they'd been hired to track down whoever had done it. In the end, Billy found out that Joe lied about all this. It was at that point that Billy left Joe, furious with him for lying, and Joe nearly ended his own life.

Ultimately, he managed to pull out of his slump, although barely, and he found Billy again. The two sort of patched things up, although there was still a huge tension there that remained while they began to work together again. It was after another huge fight, during which they once again approached a falling out, that their friendship ended for good when Billy was killed on a job. This is something Joe mostly blames himself for because he was the one who left his gun unguarded long enough for them to lose the upperhand over their prisoners and for one of them to kill Billy. Joe killed the man in return, the only bounty he's ever killed, but since then he's become very closed off.
Personality
Joe can be very loud, obnoxious and is incredibly volatile. Although he can appear self-assured and incredibly cocky (and at times he certainly is), he's also filled with self-loathing and doubt. It's rare these days, but Joe can be fiercely loyal and when he does love someone, it's generally the sort of love that never fades. The kind of love he'd often do anything for. This love and loyalty rarely manifests itself in a healthy way and Joe has trouble expressing strong emotions.

Incredibly moody, Joe can swing from being relatively happy to utterly depressed at the drop of a hat. When he's in a bad mood, he's hard to be around, snapping at people and retreating into himself. On the other hand, when he's in a good mood, he can be a lot of fun to have around. He's charismatic and friendly when it suits him, when it will get him something or just when he wants to be. He's smart, cunning and manipulative and is a skilled liar, although he hides most of his intelligence behind a dumbed down exterior. Joe's the type of man who can make people feel like they're absolute scum or like they're the only person in the world when he's talking to them.

His temper both works for him and against him in his job. It's easy for him to intimidate most people into listening to him and doing what he wants, but when they challenge him he snaps far too easily. Since Billy's death, Joe has been more quiet than he used to be and it's slightly harder to push him to snapping now than it had once been. He's lonely. Inescapably, intensely lonely. That's not something he's likely to tell anyone.
